Financial Aid
Consistent with our mission, Chadwick School is committed to providing access to all qualified students regardless of their families’ financial circumstances. For the school year 2010-2011, Chadwick awarded approximately $3.1 million in assistance as part of its dedication to enrolling a diverse student body that reflects a broad economic, social and cultural mix.
Chadwick’s financial aid program is designed to bridge the gap between what a family can contribute (based on a confidential and standardized needs analysis) and what it actually costs to attend Chadwick. Chadwick offers financial aid on the basis of the documented financial need of the family and the availability of funds.
In addition to our standard financial aid program, two merit-based awards are available to students with demonstrated financial need - the Malone Scholars Program and the MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship.
Malone Scholars Program
Chadwick School, through a generous endowment from the Malone Family Foundation in Englewood, Colo., offers the opportunity for excellent students entering Grades 7 through 12 with demonstrated financial need to apply to become Malone Scholars. The goal of the Malone Scholarship Program is to provide an outstanding learning experience to new students who exhibit a strong intellectual capacity and the keen desire and motivation to learn, yet lack the resources to finance a Chadwick education. The amount of each Malone award varies according to the need documented by the Scholar’s family.
Malone Scholars will show evidence of enthusiasm for and motivation toward maximizing their educational opportunities. Criteria for selection include transcripts, test scores, an essay, financial aid documentation, teacher recommendations and a personal interview. The due date for this year’s Malone Scholarship application is Jan. 18, 2011; forms are available in the financial aid application packet.

The MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship
The MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship provides opportunities for promising students to benefit from the education offered by Chadwick School - developing their leadership potential for the betterment of their own communities and beyond. The scholarship enriches the Chadwick student body by including students of strong academic capability, character and leadership potential who could not otherwise afford to attend Chadwick School.
The MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship is awarded to students with demonstrated financial need who distinguish themselves through high academic achievement and established or emerging leadership skills. The amount of this award is determined by the family's demonstrated need. Candidates for admission to Grade 9 are eligible to apply. The due date for this year’s MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship application is Jan. 18, 2011; forms are available in the financial aid application packet.

Financial Aid and the Admissions Process
It is essential to note that the submission of an application for financial aid has no bearing upon the deliberations of the Admission Committees or the assessment of an applicant’s potential as a Chadwick student. Decisions regarding a candidate’s admission to the school and his or her eligibility for financial aid are made independently by the Admissions Committees and the Financial Aid Committee.
Parents who wish to apply for financial aid should complete the form in the back of the application booklet and send it to the Office of Financial Aid in order to initiate the process.
