Chadwick School is comprised of three divisions: Village School, grades
K-6; Middle School, grades 7-8; and Upper School, grades 9-12. Our
academic curriculum is fully integrated across these three schools.
The primary goal of the English Department is to prepare students for
the diverse literacy demands of a global and changing world. By
reading, discussing, and writing about texts and ideas that represent a
variety of forms, genres, periods, and cultures, students will gain and
appreciate a rich and wide-ranging understanding of human existence.
The development of strong skills in three critical areas (reading,
discussing, and writing) — and the ability to reflect on them — will
enable students to experience self-discovery, build character,
participate in interdependent learning communities, and make a positive
difference as global citizens. Read More >

contexts. They will examine, analyze, and compare and contrast cultures
through a language and a perspective other than their own. The students
will uncover the inherent relationship between language and culture, as
well as that between the study of language and other disciplines. Read More >
