College CounselingThe college admission process is an exciting time, full of responsiblities and rewards. Making plans for college involves
self-discovery that helps prepare students for college and the years
beyond. At Chadwick, college counselors oversee the college application
process and meet with students and parents to discuss college choices,
standardized testing and other related issues. The formal counseling
process begins in the junior year, but students and parents are encouraged to contact the college counseling office any time questions arise.
The mission of the office states:
"In addition to preparation for college, the school, through the
college counseling office, guides students and families through the
college admissions process by helping each student select and gain
admission to a college appropriate to his or her interests and
demonstrated abilities. The success of the college preparatory and
counseling programs is not measured by the number of students who gain
admission to a particular college or list of colleges, but by the
appropriateness of each placement and the quality of the work our
students do when in college."
With three experienced college counselors and an array resources, students and families can be assured
that they will receive the considerable personal attention that this
process deserves.
