Girls Basketball Victorious Against Webb and St. Margaret's
Chadwick Girls
Varsity Basketball played Webb on Jan. 15 and the game was one of the best that
the Lady Dolphins have played. The girls blew Webb away 57-32, beating
them by an incredible 25 points. Hallie Bush dominated the key, putting
up lay ups and drawing fouls to gain Chadwick points. Emily Lapham and
Lena Kelly were amazing shooters from outside, and Airiss Finley was our
strongest rebounder. The stellar offense combined with a very strong
defense lead to one of Chadwick's most impressive victories yet. It was a
great game, and a performance that fans hope will be repeated the rest of the
season.
On
Saturday, Chadwick Girls came back to play St. Margaret's in an impressive game
where the defense were the star players. The game was incredibly close
throughout, with neither team scoring too heavily. In the end, the game
was won on free throws in the final quarter.
Chadwick’s
offense got off to a slow start in the first quarter because both teams were
playing incredible defense. Chadwick took a small lead and held onto it
for the majority of the quarter. The second and third progressed much the
same way with Chadwick increasing its lead and maintaining it against St.
Margaret's.
In the fourth, Haliie Bush was a
standout player. Her free throws were influential in Chadwick's
maintenance of the lead. Outside of their free throws, both teams had
trouble making plays. Strong defense made it nearly impossible to get
perfect shots off and the players didn’t hide their frustration. In the end,
Chadwick held onto the lead to win 38-32, making this the second day in a row
with a Chadwick girls varisty basketball victory. Great job, Lady Dolphins!
