Chadwick Boys Varsity Basketball played
Webb on Jan. 15 in an amazing game with an incredible finish. The game was
neck and neck the entire way, and both teams played incredibly. Hank
Trumbull and Brian Shaw were Chadwick's primary rebounders throughout the game
and they did their job incredibly well. They were also our dominant
inside scorers. Brian scored an impressive 16 points and Hank scored 15,
but the game’s MVP without a doubt was Sam Cartwright.
In the last seven seconds of the game,
Chadwick was down by two. The score was 43-45. Sam Cartwright
passed the ball in and the clock started ticking. Matt Jamele saved the
play after a small slip and passed the ball to Sam. With one second left,
Sam put up an amazing three-point buzzer beater to win the game, 46-45.
Never has a Chadwick crowd been so excited! People stormed the court and
tackled Sam as the celebration began.
And just when
you think the fun is over….
Not a team to be satisfied
with just one victory in a weekend, Boys Varsity came back on Saturday to play
another amazing game against Rolling Hills Prep. The first half was a
tough battle for control that went back and forth several times. Both
teams were incredibly talented and evenly matched. The first half was all
about defense, and Chadwick took advantage of every opportunity, blocking any
shot they could and stealing at every opportunity.
In the second
half, the game opened up. Chadwick began pulling ahead and never
stopped. Once again Hank Trumbull and Brian Shaw led the scoring from
inside. Brian scored 19 points, and Hank tossed in 15. Their
rebounding was essential to the Dolphins’ success. Chadwick dominated the
second half and ended up winning the game, 70-47.
