Who the course is designed for: all 8th grade students
The eighth-grade history course is the middle segment of our three -year exploration of world history (grades 7-9). The subject of the eighth grade history course is world history from the 5th to the 17th century. The course explores various regions of the world and their interactions through different thematic lenses, including environment, political power, exchange, world view, and world religions. Students learn to recognize important historical themes and to be able to compare and contrast how those themes are manifested in different cultures, as well as in the modern world. The course also focuses on three main skills: research, essay writing, and presentation. The students will chart their progress on each skill throughout the year.
