College Counseling

From Executive Director Bruce Poch:

The college admission process is an exciting time, full of responsibilities and rewards. Making plans for college involves self-discovery that helps prepare students for college and the years beyond. At Chadwick, college counselors oversee the college application process and meet with students and parents to discuss college choices, standardized testing and other related issues. While class meetings and parent gatherings begin earlier, the formal individual and family counseling process begins in the sophomore year. Students and parents are encouraged to contact the college counseling office any time questions arise.

With four experienced college counselors and an array of resources, students and families can be assured that they will receive the considerable personal attention that this process deserves.

Our Mission

In addition to preparation for college, Chadwick School, through the College Counseling Office, guides students and families through the college admissions process by helping each student assess and select colleges appropriate to his or her interests, learning styles, philosophy, and demonstrated abilities. The success of the college preparatory and counseling programs at Chadwick School is measured by the quality of thought students and families bring to the process and by the development of the best collegiate preparation and opportunities possible. Success cannot be measured narrowly by the number of students who gain admission to a particular college or list of colleges. The ultimate measure is in the appropriateness of each placement and the quality of the work our students do when in college.
