Chadwick Alumni Recognized For Co-Creating Website To Help Ukrainian Refugees

Chadwick alumni Marco Burstein ’21 made national headlines for a website he and his Harvard classmate Avi Schiffmann developed together.

On March 3, after three days of coding, they released Ukraine Take Shelter, a stripped-down version of Airbnb to help Ukrainian refugees more easily connect with hosts offering shelter and other services. Marco began learning to code in third grade and now a freshman at Harvard University, he relishes using coding to solve problems big and small. Ukraine Take Shelter has been translated into 12 languages and currently has listed over 10,000 stays around the world. We are incredibly humbled by and proud of the work that Marco and Avi are undertaking.
