Marine Bio Students Study on Catalina Island

Chadwick Marine Biology students recently participated in a 4-day field study at USC's Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island.

The Wrigley Marine Science Center is a field station that hosts undergraduate, graduate and academic researchers. This field study was an intensive dive into biological, chemical, physical and geological oceanography. Chadwick students engaged in oceanographic research, conducted underwater biodiversity surveys, collected and analyzed water samples, identified planktonic species and explored the unique geological formations associated with the island. They also had the opportunity to connect with USC researchers and tour the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber.
