The Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Club will recognize teacher Chris Meisel in a virtual ceremony on Feb. 4, 2021.
Now in his 11th year in the Village, Chris has been a valued member of the Chadwick community since 2009, teaching both fifth and sixth grades. He has been involved in countless activities and committees over the years, and currently serves as the Student Council Advisor in the Village.
“Chris is a selfless and passionate role model for his students and his colleagues. He is a shining example of a Chadwick Core Value teacher and leader through and through. Never one to back down from a challenge, Chris pushes us all to ensure that our sixth-graders are challenged academically and socially/emotionally while having fun doing it,” shared Village School Acting Director Deborah Levy. “If Chris could clone himself, I think he would attend all activities with his students, not just to know them even better, but because he’d have so much fun doing it! His students would describe him as 'fun, interesting and caring.' They know that he has their best interests in mind always.”
Originally from Chicago, Chris received a bachelor’s degree in English from USC and a master’s in teaching from LaVerne University. Chris and his wife, Colleen, have two sons — Finn (a Chadwick 11th-grader) and Beckett (a Chadwick ninth-grader).
We are proud to have Chris representing Chadwick School as Educator of the Year. Congratulations Chris!
