Competing for Chadwick
The Chadwick Equestrian team is a co-educational sports team composed of students who compete on behalf of Chadwick School in the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL). The IEL competitions are held at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park (“The Oaks”), 30753 La Pata Ave, San Juan Capistrano, California.
Chadwick is one of more than 50 public and private schools that compete at IEL in Orange County. Riders are able to ride in a range of equestrian disciplines from show jumping (hunters/jumpers) to dressage, gymkhana, and western style riding. In the jumping and hunter divisions, riders compete in one of the following categories based on their level of expertise: Novice classes (2’ fences); Freshman – 2’6” jumps; JV – 3’ fences; or Varsity – 3’6” jumps.
Riders train outside school, own/lease their horses and coordinate all facets of their practices and show schedules.
IEL (www.ieloc.org) is a non-profit operating exclusively for charitable and education purposes to foster regional and national equestrian sports competition.
