STORY
“I like to read because of the imagination. You can picture everything. You can imagine what the characters look like.
I presented to my classmates about my dyslexia because I feel that people shouldn’t be ashamed that they have it. You shouldn’t be ashamed of who you are or your differences. Dyslexia just means you learn in a different way.
One day, I thought I should do something. I started a book club for other students who have dyslexia. My goal is to help other people with reading and for them to know it’s OK to slow down while you read.
I love the community at Chadwick. Everyone is very friendly and kind. The friends you make at Chadwick are lifelong friends. And the teachers are so supportive. It’s a good experience.”

On Sadie
“Sadie is a friend to everyone. She’s such a dedicated student. Despite her challenges, she works hard always and strives to do well.
Since second grade, Sadie has been very open about her dyslexia. She advocates for herself in class and started a book club for students who struggle with reading like her.
While Chadwick is an academically rigorous school, we do have students who learn differently. Teachers do a great job of providing 1-on-1 support. I also go into the classroom to work with small groups and support students. Chadwick stands out from other schools with the individual care and attention that goes into supporting each student. There’s amazing communication and collaboration between all parties involved — students, teachers and parents.
Chadwick students’ love for learning is really inspiring. They’re not just going through school; they get excited about classes. They genuinely want to be here. The teachers are so dedicated and hard-working. They all have a high level of expertise in what they do and they take the time to show that they care.”
