Educational Approach
Chadwick Middle School brings rigorous academics and engaging co-curriculars into an environment where students are allowed to try, fail and then try again.
Instrumental to this is our focus on relationships and feedback. Students feel seen and heard, and they know where they stand, because they continually receive personalized feedback on their efforts. Beyond a grade or a result, they’re taught to really understand the decisions they’ve made, why they made them and where there might be opportunities for improvement.
The Middle School rotating block schedule allows the time and space for students to try new activities, deepen areas of interest, lead in clubs and play multiple sports. Similar to the Upper School schedule, the Middle School schedule includes two 80-minute periods and one 45-minute session each week for the core subjects, with time allocated for PE, STEM electives, arts, athletics, club activities and study hall throughout the week.
Our combined academic and relational approach helps students become skilled and invested in their learning experience, and incorporate purpose into their everyday work.
