Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship
Every Middle School student has an option to explore and deepen their interests in different co-curricular opportunities and emerging technologies. This exploration takes place in our dedicated Innovation & Design Building, which houses a makerspace, woodshop, computer-science lab and robotics lab stocked with 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines and more.
Animation and Rigging |

Stop-motion animation, animatronics, puppetry, sculpting — this artistic and technical course dives into all of them, giving students a chance to study human movement, creation and design. ![]() |
Coding with Game Development |
Students love to play video games, but what goes into actually creating one? This course explores that very question in all sorts of detail. ![]() |
Culinary Chemistry |
Science and food are a lot more related than we sometimes realize. Here students apply science concepts to cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. ![]() |
Digital Fabrication |
Creators have more tools than ever before. Students in this course use everything from 3D printers and laser cutters to build prototypes and projects. ![]() |
Exploring Electronics and Circuits |
Technology is everywhere and in (almost) everything. Through this course, students develop valuable skills like designing custom circuits, coding in “C” and working with microcontrollers. ![]() |
“Middle Making” — Design and Engineering |
Kids learn by doing — a truth that’s at the heart of this course. Students get hands-on as they work on projects exploring the relationship between science, art, technology, music and engineering through the makerspace. ![]() |
Robotics |
Robots aren’t just in science fiction. In small, collaborative groups, students learn about levers, drive trains, sensors, motors and more. They even build and program their own robot! ![]() |
Woodshop |
It’s a timeless skill for a reason! This course uses our dedicated woodshop to explore the art and science of woodworking. It touches on all aspects — project planning, building and even the wood itself. ![]() |
