Physical Education
Physical education in the Village School is offered four days a week and is led by the same invested coaches who guide our Middle and Upper School teams, which means students receive expert instruction. It’s also held at the same top-tier athletic facilities as our older students — including the gymnasium, football field, climbing wall and swimming pool — offering early exposure to a wide range of physical experiences.
As students journey through Village School, they receive an appropriate progression in their physical education.
Lower Village School
It all starts with a fun, gradual and safe introduction into coordinated movement.
Students spend the first few years exploring and then refining their fundamental motor skills, such as body control, coordination and balance. These building blocks of physical education are then enhanced through activities such as swimming, dancing, rock climbing and other games.
Upper Village School
Our physical education program grows right alongside our students.
As they develop, students are introduced to a variety of team and individual sports, which empowers them to discover personal interests and practice life skills such as perseverance, sportsmanship and teamwork. This continues to promote physical wellbeing while also nurturing confidence, character and a lifelong appreciation for active living.
