The Arts
Art is a window into creativity. We make sure that creativity stays alive and well in students’ hearts as they grow up!
It’s for that important reason that Sixers receive dedicated time in the visual and performing arts, ensuring their ability to appreciate and create art leads into a desire to express themselves creatively. They work with expert, passionate artistic educators who open the door for students to express their personal experiences and cultural perspectives and to begin to critically interpret, evaluate and respond to art. All within an environment where exploring your creative side is not only safe but encouraged.
Visual Arts
Sixers are encouraged to get their hands dirty — in the best possible way! They’re given exposure to and training in the practices of ceramics, painting and drawing. Not only do they learn the theory that goes into these disciplines, but they also are taught how to interpret, evaluate and respond to art as well to generate ideas and produce meaningful work based on their personal and cultural perspectives.

Performing Arts
Creative expression really comes to life here in a variety of shapes and forms. Sixers are given the opportunity to choose and pursue one of the instruments found in our symphonic orchestra, and they can even join the ensemble to perform concerts throughout the year. There is also a vocal chorus, where students with a passion for singing can learn and perform music in different genres, languages and arrangements. Then there’s musical theater — this engaging co-curricular builds skills in music, acting, dance and includes a final musical project!
