Endowment funds are financial assets that generate a consistent source of income through effective investment of the principal. Portions of this income are used to relieve the operating budget, and, when substantial enough, to help minimize tuition increases.
Endowment funds are frequently established to honor or remember someone of significance to the school. We are especially grateful to those donors who have established the endowment funds that provide security for our future.

Established in 1971 for financial aid to students and for specific needs within the operating budget. Chadwick’s endowment was greatly enhanced by a significant bequest from the Frances Johnson Estate Trust, named for the mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of generations of Chadwick alumni.
Center for Ethical, Global Leadership Endowment Fund
Established in 2018 by Ruth and Roger MacFarlane to provide programmatic support to the Center for Ethical, Global Leadership.
Chadwick Alumni Endowment Fund
Established in 2010 by Kia Rode Westhead ‘87 and Paul Westhead ‘85 to provide annual support for the school’s highest priorities as established by the Headmaster.
David Cannom Trustee Fund
Established in 1996 by the Board of Trustees at the retirement of longtime trustee David Cannom as a means of honoring his service and the service of all retiring trustees. Income to be used at the Headmaster’s discretion, primarily for financial aid.
John Fiske Endowment Fund
Established in 2008 by members of the Chadwick Community on the occasion of John Fiske’s retirement after 31 years of service to the school. Income to be used for the enhancement of programs to which John is particularly dedicated including outdoor education, the Middle School, financial aid and the golf team.
Samuel H. Scripps ‘46
Established in 2004 by Samuel Scripps ‘46 for upgrades and ongoing maintenance to the technical system of the Geoffrey Alan Laverty Center for the Performing Arts.
Seeley Mudd/Leavenworth Library Endowment
Established in 1981 by William T. Pascoe III for maintenance of the Seeley Mudd Science Building and the Leavenworth Library Learning Center
Pascoe Teacher Fellow Fund
Established in 1979 by William T. Pascoe III in honor of his father for faculty and staff professional development.
Seniors’ Faculty Recognition Fund
Established in 1994 by Parents of the Class of 1994 for increasing the school’s endowment and paying tribute to faculty and staff.
Adkins Scholarship Fund
Established in 1988 by the estate of Evelyn Adkins for financial aid.
The Bill J. Bryant Memorial Fund
Established in 1996-97 by the Bryant family in memory of former parent Steven Bryant’s father for supplementary financial aid for needs beyond tuition.
The Bina Mandal Endowment
Established in 2004 by Mina and Ashis Mandal in memory of Bina Mandal, mother of Aloke Mandal ‘81. Income provides an annual award to recognize outstanding swimmer-scholars and to provide financial aid for students in grades 9-12.
Chadwick Scholarship Foundation Fund
Established in 1971 by Ann and John McDonnell for financial aid.
The CPA Financial Aid Endowment Fund for Faculty and Staff Families
Established in 2017 by the Chadwick Parents Association to provide financial aid for the children of faculty and staff.
The Delphinus Endowment Fund for Financial Aid
Established in 2013 by a committee of Chadwick parents, alumni, trustees, faculty and staff to enhance and strengthen the entire Chadwick community by increasing the tuition assistance available for extraordinary students, grades K-12.
The Edward E. Ford Foundation Endowment in Honor of Virginia “Gin” Chadwick
Established in 2004 by members of the Chadwick Community who contributed funds in honor of Gin Chadwick to earn a challenge grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation. Income is used for financial aid for students in grades 9-12.
The Ivy and George Kaiser and Matthew F. Wilhelm ‘96 Fund
Established in 2004 by Ivy and George Kaiser for financial aid for Middle School and Upper School students whose family income is in the lowest quartile of Chadwick families.
Jeffrey Lepape ‘77 Financial Aid Fund
Established in 1988 by family and friends in memory of Jeff Lapape ‘77 for financial aid.
Lyon-Mueggler Memorial Fund
Established in 1997 by alumni parent Jan Moulton and alumni Mark Westerfield ‘95 and Lynne Westerfield ‘96 in memory of Outdoor Education Director Max Lyon and Assistant Director Karl Mueggler to support Lyon-Mueggler Trip Scholarships.
MacFarlane Leadership Scholarship Fund
Established in 2007 by Ruth and Roger MacFarlane for financial aid for promising students entering ninth grade to develop their leadership potential.
MacFarlane Leadership Development Fund
Established in 2018 by Ruth and Roger MacFarlane to provide financial assistance for leadership development opportunities for MacFarlane Leadership Scholars.
Malone Family Foundation Scholarship Fund
Established in 2003 by the Malone Family Foundation for financial aid for gifted students in grades 7-12 with demonstrated financial need.
Sam Jamot Brown ‘47 Endowment Fund for Financial Aid
Established in 2005 by the Brown Family Foundation for financial aid for new students.
