Our culture, commitment, values and vision.
My coaching philosophy is centered around a holistic approach that balances athletic and academic pursuits while ensuring the individual well-being of each student-athlete. Guided by the influence of my teachers and the lessons of my career, my approach is rooted in knowledge of the game, earned trust, relationship-building and an appreciation for different cultures.
I believe in the power of connection and mutual respect, helping athletes reach their goals and become the best version of themselves as they prepare for life beyond sports. Structure (in the water and the classroom), teamwork and discipline, allow student-athletes to develop the creativity and self-confidence they will need to succeed in the sport and in their lives after college.

“When I first started Chadwick water polo, the captain was named Alan. He was an amazing mentor and the reason that I stuck with the program. This year, as the captain, I am trying to do what he did for me for all the incoming freshmen. I want to be the reason someone falls in love with the sport that has shaped my whole life.”OWEN FOLDSEY ’25 |
I believe in the power of knowing student-athletes as people and that having shared goals builds collaboration. As much as I value my knowledge of the sport, and the physical and technical aspects of it, I continue to develop an even deeper appreciation for the positive, life-altering experiences of being a student-athlete at a prestigious institution.
