Compass Magazine
The new Compass Magazine is on its way to your mailbox!
Keep an eye on your mailbox. The Sept. 2026 issue of Compass, Chadwick's magazine for alumni, families and friends, is landing this month — and it's one we're especially proud of.
This year's issue reaches back to the school's earliest days and forward to the work our community is doing around the world. Inside, you'll find a feature on photographers Cedric Wright and Ansel Adams and their little-known connection to Chadwick's founder — a story of mentorship, friendship and the California landscape that shaped them both. You'll travel to the Adriatic for a look at the Field School of Hvar and its sustainable textile program, drawn from a conversation with the people building it. And you'll join us in remembering Jeff Mercer, the beloved longtime educator whose life and legacy were celebrated at MercerFest.
As always, the issue is rounded out by Class Notes, alumni updates and profiles of the newest members of the Athletic Hall of Fame — the stories that remind us how far a Chadwick education travels.
Print can only hold so much. That's why we've paired this issue with online photo galleries featuring images that didn't fit on the page — from the archives, from Hvar, from MercerFest and from campus life this fall. Click through below to see more.
If the magazine hasn't reached you yet, give it a week or two. And if you've moved, let the Advancement Office know so the next issue finds you.
We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
